Mushrooms is a vivid fusion of poetry, dance, and sound art, featuring John Cage’s long-form poem Mushrooms et variationes. Conceived by musicologist and experimental vocalist Sarah Kolat, with original choreographic concepts by James Kirby Rogers and sound art by Yiğit Kolat, the performance draws inspiration from the chance-based processes of Cage and Merce Cunningham. Performers Kyle Davis (vocal) and Sarah-Gabrielle Ryan (dance) bring this playful, immersive work to life in a world shaped by indeterminacy, collaboration, and live discovery.
